On Monday, September 9, 2024, at about 7:30 a.m., the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) in Castries received and responded to a report of a stabbing which occurred on Jeremie Street in Castries.
Investigators from the CID proceeded to the Castries City Police where they conducted inquiries. Preliminary investigations revealed that an altercation ensued between two males resulting in both sustaining injuries and requiring medical treatment. Both individuals received care at the Owen King European Union Hospital (OKEU).
As the investigation progressed, one of the individuals, identified as thirty-five-year-old Anthony Edward from Vanard, Anse La Raye, was arrested in connection with the incident.
On Tuesday, September 11, 2024, CID investigators formally charged Anthony Edward with the attempted murder of the other man involved. He was escorted to the First District Court, where he submitted a bail application. Following this, he was remanded in custody pending further proceedings in the case.
