Wilton’s Yard Operation Leads to Arrest and Seizure of Contraband

On Friday, July 19, 2024, a joint operation by the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) units, including the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), Special Services Unit (SSU), Bicycle Patrol Unit, and Marchand Police Station, targeted the Wilton’s Yard community in Castries. The operation was conducted in connection with an earlier burglary on Chaussee Road, Castries, which occurred around 3:00 am.

During the house searches in Wilton’s Yard, five households were thoroughly inspected, but no significant evidence was found. However, the operation took a decisive turn when officers encountered a suspicious male. Upon searching him, the RSLPF personnel discovered and seized the following items:

One pistol

Eighteen rounds of 9mm ammunition

One magazine

Forty-seven grams of cannabis resin

The investigation was led by the Criminal Investigations Department in Castries, resulting in the arrest of twenty-six-year-old Terrel Bradley from Bocage, Castries. Bradley faces multiple charges related to the seized items:

Possession of a firearm

Possession of ammunition

Possession of a controlled drug

Possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply to another

Terrel Bradley appeared before the Magistrate’s Court, where he applied for bail. The court granted bail under specific conditions:

Possession of ammunition: Ten thousand dollars (XCD10,000.00) in cash or suitable surety or land documents.

Possession of a firearm: Twenty thousand dollars (XCD20,000.00) in cash or suitable surety or land documents.

Possession of controlled drugs: One thousand dollars (XCD1000.00) in cash or suitable surety or land documents.

Possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply to another: One thousand dollars (XCD1000.00) in cash or suitable surety or land documents.
