Saint Lucians called on to assist sister islands of Grenada and Saint Vincent

The Saint Lucia Red Cross is calling on all Saint Lucians to work with it and other members of the Red Cross movement, and other humanitarian agencies, to meet the immediate needs of the countries affected by Hurricane Beryl, particularly Grenada and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

“We urgently need donations of non-perishable food items, bottled water, tarpaulins, blankets, personal hygiene items, baby items and cleaning items.

“We have arrangements in place for the first shipment of immediate items to depart the island on Saturday 6th July for delivery to the Grenada Red Cross. We will continue to update the general public on the needs of those impacted as the requests come through.

“All donations can be delivered to the St Lucia Red Cross Headquarters at Vigie from 9am to 5pm daily.   Feel free to reach our offices at 452-5582 or email [email protected] should you have any queries or concerns,” noted the local chapter of the Red Cross.
