
TEAM Saint Lucia continued to demonstrate its talent and resilience as the Under 12 SR4 Tennis Tournament, held in Trinidad and Tobago (T&T), went into an exciting Day 3 Wednesday.
Saint Lucia beat T&T 2-1 to secure a hard-fought victory.
In other updates, T&T’s Sameya Mohammed defeated Saint Lucia’s Samuella Bertrand with a score of 7-5, 6-2. However, Saint Lucia’s Kahenya Mukora swiftly countered with an impressive win against Keys Robert (T&T) to clinch the match 6-1, 7-6(9-7).
In the doubles match, Mukora teamed up with her compatriot Merkisha Justin, as the duo displayed excellent coordination and skill, to defeat T&T’s Keya Roberts and Sameya Mohammed team with a score of 6-1, 6-4.
With this victory, Saint Lucia emerged triumphant in the set, securing a 2-1 win.
Also, on Day 3, Tahj Goodman from Saint Lucia defeated Grayson Burrell from Saint Kitts and Nevis 3-6, 6-3 (11-9).
Immanuel Charles from Saint Lucia defeated T’Zuriel Percival from Saint Kitts and Nevis 6-7 (2), 6-3 (10-4).
Saint Lucia boys advanced to the main draw of the competition, playing for position 1-4 of 9 teams.
