Luc Chevrier has officially qualified for the Paris 2024 Olympics through the Tripartite Qualification process via World Sailing. This monumental achievement was made possible thanks to his strong performances throughout his Olympic Campaign.

With less than 20 days until the start of the Olympic sailing events, Luc is gearing up to represent Saint Lucia, competing in the single-handed one-person dinghy category. His journey to Paris has been a testament to his dedication, skill, and the unwavering relentlessness towards excellence for over a decade.

Luc Chevrier has been training over the past two months on the waters in Marseille, France leaving no stone unturned and gathering crucial insight to the conditions and their characteristics.

“I just completed the final training block in Marseille, and I can confidently say that I am in the best form that I have ever been in. I can’t wait to showcase this on the main stage in august!” said Chevrier.

Chevrier is thankful to the Saint Lucia Olympic Committee, the Saint Lucia National Lottery, the Saint Lucia Ministry of Sports, the Saint Lucia Sailing Association, The Oliver Gobat Sports Fund and Cariquisine for their unwavering support throughout his Olympic campaign.

However, his campaign to Paris is still under budget by 30 percent hence his call to the private sector to support not only him but other local athletes journeying to Paris for the Olympics. He believes that support from the business sector can go a long way in propelling them to greater performances.

“We would like to commend Cariquisine which has been a major sponsor from the private sector for their commitment to sailing. Their support has been instrumental in Luc’s preparation and success. We are calling upon Corporate Saint Lucia to partner up and to help close the gap as the start of race one for Luc approaches,” a release from Chevrier camp stated.

Luc will join the world’s elite sailors in Marseille, where he will showcase his talents and compete for Olympic honours. This qualification marks a significant moment not only for Luc but also for Saint Lucia, as he represents the island’s spirit and determination on the global stage.
