Consequently, the Ministry of Youth Development and Sports (MYDS) female volleyball team under the guidance of coach Denis St. Clair are undergoing intensive training exercises in preparation for the games.

According to a ministry spokesperson, eight players from last year’s team and some from this year’s Under 19 Schools’ tournament are in the squad, undertaking training sessions at the Vigie Multi-Purpose Sports Complex.

Coach St. Clair is emphasizing the importance of basic volleyball skills like passing, covering the spiker, and movement on the court. The team trains on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.

The multi- discipline games take place annually during the latter part of July.

The event encourages  students to compete sportingly and is also seen as a gauge for Under-21 talent pool in five sporting disciplines namely: Basketball and Volleyball (Male and Female),  Track and Field,  Netball,  and Football.

The Games resumed last year following inadvertent breaks in 2020, 2021 and 2022 due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
