Se7en The Poet to Headline AATC Performance Poetry Night

The excitement is palpable as another electrifying evening of spoken word poetry is set to take the stage on May 6th at the Harbor Club.

Voices of the Underground: A Night of Performance Poetry is an annual production of the Cultural Development Foundation (CDF) in collaboration with HeadPhunk Collective. As a popular highlight of the Arts component of the Saint Lucia Jazz and Arts Festival, Spoken Word Night continues to be a highly subscribed staple of the festival.

Headlining this year’s event is Se7en The Poet, a distinguished poet, author, sought-after motivational speaker and entertainer hailing from the USA. Varion “Se7en The Poet” Howard is renowned for pushing the boundaries of social consciousness and championing the call of manhood through his captivating prose. With a style and flair uniquely his own, Se7en has earned a reputation as an outstanding storyteller whose poetry resonates deeply with audiences.

A graduate of Prairie View A&M University, with dual degrees in Psychology and Social Work, and a Master’s degree in Counselling, Se7en’s platform not only inspires but also serves as a catalyst for positive change. His infectious stage presence, coupled with his intellect, has positioned him to redefine poetry and spoken word experience. His albums serve as a testament to his versatility, featuring a mix of soulful and conscientious poetry that delves into issues affecting everyday life, inspiring audiences to think deeply about personal experiences and societal challenges.

Joining Se7en The Poet on the Voices of the Underground stage will be the Word Up Poets from Sir Arthur Lewis Community College, the poets of the HeadPhunk Collective, and Lisa Dublin, popular Saint Lucian poet and published author currently based in Canada.
