On Wednesday, March 27, 2024, the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) carried out a highly effective joint operation aimed at curbing firearm-related offenses. During this operation, diligent police officers executed six search warrants, leading to the confiscation of an illicit firearm that had been circulating in the public domain. However, as of now, no suspects have been apprehended in connection with this seizure.
The recovered weapon was identified as a Glock pistol, equipped with an extended magazine and an automatic sear. An auto sear is a device that significantly enhances the lethality of a Glock pistol. Ongoing investigations are underway to delve into the circumstances surrounding this recovery.
The RSLPF says it remains unwavering in its commitment to apply pressure on individuals involved in criminal activities.
“The expansion of our operations across the entire island serves as a clear indication that the RSLPF is both visible and diligently working to ensure that the impact of law enforcement is keenly felt by those who infringe upon the rights of others or profit from criminal enterprises,” stated a police release Thursday.
