WITH two days of fun and play in a sporting rivalry mode, the Ministry of Youth Development and Sports 2024 Inter-District Primary Schools Athletics Championships, got underway yesterday (Tuesday) at the Mindoo Phillip Park [MPP] with much fanfare and vigour.
On Day One of the competition, participants took part in the Ball Throw event.
According to the organisers, the competition that involves student athletes from District 1 to District 8 is expected to produce more excitement as the track events move to the Soufriere Mini Stadium today (Wednesday, March 27).
Today’s meet gets off at 10.00a.m., and the contenders will be vying to dethrone the defending champions -District 5.
Join the action as Saint Lucia’s best primary school student athletes go for the gold.
The Inter-District Primary Schools Athletics Championships 2024 will also be shown live on Winners TV – Saint Lucia’s Home for School Sports. The meet will be streamed live on social media.
Preparations have been ongoing earnestly with coaches, teachers, fans and parents all playing their part in getting the young athletes all set to display their skills and talents.
“Let’s come together to support and encourage them as they represent Saint Lucia with pride,” a Ministry of Sports spokesperson commented.
