The Castries Comprehensive Secondary School will celebrate its 50th Anniversary this year. The educational institution opened its doors in 1974 and has molded the minds and careers of thousands of students over the years. In celebration of this milestone, the CCSS Alumni have planned several activities among which is a Walk to 50 to be held tomorrow, January 28th.
From 1974 to 2024 CCSS has made an indelible mark on the education landscape of Saint Lucia. Affectionately called ‘Compre’, the school’s 50th Anniversary celebrations will kick off with its second annual golden walk organized by the Alumni. Ernette Kangalanders is the Legal Advisor for the Alumni.
“So the Alumni consists of past students who have walked through the halls of CCSS and have gone into society and are making meaningful contributions. We realized CCSS molded us so we want to give back, so we came together and formed this Alumni and the plan is to raise as much funds as we can to help better the school’s environment for students, teachers, and anybody who is going to walk through the halls of CCSS. So, bring the community to us and we to the community,” Kangalanders said.
Public Relations Officer on the Alumni, James Adjadha in his usual high-energy persona has sounded the call for every past student of CCSS and their families to walk for pride and love of Compre to 50 and beyond.
