Today we grieve yet another member of THE VOICE family who has transcended to the afterlife. Victor Marquis, a former editor who spent many good years with us died last Sunday at his home in Pavee.
We say thank you to all those who flooded us with messages expressing their deepest sympathies since news of his passing came to their attention.
As all of you may recall, it was in February of this year when we were hit with news of the passing of Mr. Guy Ellis who served as reporter from early as the 1960s and later as editor of this newspaper.
The months passed have not yet dulled the pain of Ellis’ passing, yet here we are having to say goodbye to another editor who first started out as a freelancer, hired as a reporter and later editor.
The passing of Mr. Victor Marquis, a prolific writer, author, critical thinker, funny man and all round great human being to be around will be yet another sad cross to bear as we reminisce on the times he spent with us. (More in Saturday’s issue).
