CENTRAL Castries was in a devastating offensive mode as they defeated Mon Repos 6-2 in the SLFA Inc. Island Super Cup, which continued on Tuesday (August 29) at the Dennery playing field.
Leading the charge for the city lads were Zachary Leiche with a brace from goals in the 35th and 41st min, Marcalan John 16th min, Jamal Wilfond 21st min; Kimmani Serieux deflected an own goal in the 60th min and Andrez Daniel slotted in the 5th min of added-on time.
Scoring for Mon Repos were Mitchum Francis and Kimmani Serieux in the 37th and 58th min respectively.
Marchand rebounded from a goal down to defeat Roseau 2 – 1.
For Marchand the goal scorers were Jn. Marie Lesmond 60th min. and Kimanie Monrose in the 70th min. Earlier, Hermaiel Charlery had opened the scoring for Roseau in the 20th min.
At the Desruisseaux playing field, Anse La Raye and Babonneau played to a 1 – 1 draw. Scoring for Anse La Raye was Rahj Joseph in the 73rd min, while Sylvester Sonson scored an own goal for Babonneau in the 42nd min.
Micoud got the better of South Castries 3 – 2. Micoud capitalized from an own goal scored by Stanley Adrien in the 2nd min and the other conversions from Rai Gaspard and Christus Flavien in the 55th and 77th min respectively.
Scoring for South Castries were Thomas Fields 34th, and Chayron Dupre in the 85th min.
Meanwhile, matches continued in the SLFA Inc. Island Premier Cup on Wednesday (August 30), at venues island-wide.
At the Dennery Playing Field, Mabouya Valley defeated Canaries 3-0 with a brace from Alton Joseph scoring in the 21st and 27th min and a goal from Camile Sandiford 72nd min.
La Clery and Desruisseaux played to a 1 – 1 draw. Scoring for La Clery was Malik St. Prix 16th min, while Brad Bideua equalized with a penalty for Desruisseaux in the 44th min.
At the Soufriere Mini Stadium, Choiseul and Laborie played to a goalless draw.
At Desruisseaux, in a southern derby, Vieux Fort North and Vieux Fort South played to a 1-1 draw. Noah Nicholas netted for V-Fort South in the 2nd min., while V-Fort North drew level with a goal from Jason Isidore in the 17th min.
Dennery got the better of Gros Islet 3 – 1, with goals from Elijah Joseph in the 26th min., Kurt Frederick a penalty in the 76th min., and Garvin Reggie 84th min. Eden Charles pulled one back for Gros Islet in the 54th min.
In other updates, matches continued in the Marchand Football League [MFL] Arnold Clouden Memorial Cup at the Marchand Grounds.
Tou Rouge defeated Bagatelle 3-1, with goals from Fejean Charte 2nd min, Janaie Lesmond 78th, and Stephan Hippoltye 83rd for Tou Rouge.
Ferguson St. Claire netted in the 33rd min. for Bagatelle; Arundell Hill won by default over La Cou Dou.
In the meantime, the Bordelais Correctional Facility (BCF) Safe Space Futsal competition continued on Sunday (August, 27) at the Richfond Playing Field.
Rose Hill defeated Casimir FC 6 – 0 with goals from Nathaniel Leo 2, and 1 each from Zachary Sandiford, Anthony Joseph, Valencious Joseph, and an own goal by Courtney Louis.
Fire Service with a brace from Benneirro Wellington defeated Cedars 2 – 1, whose goal was scored by Stanely King.
Marchand defeated Jules FC 4 – 1. Andrus Remy scored a hat trick and Mario Auguste got a goal; Dylan Lucien scored for Jules FC.
Verne Guard FC defeated Grass Street 3 – 1, with goals from Dylan Mathurin, Jalan Hippolyte, and Jah Constantine. Ferrell Felicien scored for Grass Street. New Village and Octave FC played to a 1 – 1.
