For over 20 years, Piton Malta has been at the cornerstone of support for youth and sports development initiatives in Saint Lucia. More recently, over the period September 2022 to March 2023, the brand, through its Nourishing Futures Campaign, donated over $17,000 worth of sporting gear, groceries, and Piton Malta products to five young promising local athletes. The athletes span the sporting disciplines of football, netball, cricket, table tennis and track & field, and range between the ages of 12 to 18.
Joined by coaches, parents and Ministry of Youth Development and Sports Officials, the student athletes received their respective equipment, merchandise, and product with much elation.
Category Manager, Mrs. Fern Wilson-Jean spoke of the vision behind Nourishing Futures: “For as long as the Piton Malta brand has existed, it has remained steadfast in its investment towards youth development through sporting initiatives and programmes on island. We recognise the power of sport in shaping critical life skills such as discipline, self-confidence, commitment, and grit. Therefore, our hope is that these investments will facilitate the hopes and dreams of our young athletes and help them advance their holistic development.”
Piton Malta, as a beloved non-alcoholic Saint Lucian beverage has been committed to the upliftment, and nourishment of families in Saint Lucia through other initiatives and support to institutions such as the St. Lucia Crisis Center and NEMO among others.
In a post COVID-19 era, the brand is excited to continue its support of young athletes and contribute further to the development of sports in local communities, and help foster a thriving youth sports scene, while promoting youth health and wellness.
