SLUDTERA joined several organizations in Celebrating Excellence: Nurturing Our Creativity, Consolidating Our Legacy.

SLUDTERA’s SLQCEA’s Planning Committee in partnership with Songtry, hosted the 5th Annual St. Lucia Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Awards at the Financial Administrative Centre, on Wednesday January 11th, 2023 at 10:00 am. as part of the 2023 St. Lucia Nobel Laureate Festival. The Awards Committee announced the ten students who participated in the 2022 Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition, celebrated the four students who earned gold, silver and bronze certificates, acknowledged the partners and sponsors who are supporting the event, and recognized a former participant writer.

The 2022 National Awardees of the 2022 Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition are:

Ianie Paul of the Castries Comprehensive Secondary School

Keynote speaker for the event was Ms. Khadijah Halliday. Other speakers at the event included Ms. Gianetti George, Deputy Chief Education Officer-Instruction (Ag) at the Ministry of Education, Ms. Perlina Murray of Songtry, and Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition Junior Judge, Mrs. Michelle N. Samuel. Refreshments were provided by Melly’s Mix It Up.
