The St. Lucia Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture hosted another informative Workshop for its members particularly the Small and Medium Sized firms.
“Making NIC Work for You” was delivered by an enthused staff of the National Insurance Corporation to an attentive group of participants on Tuesday 17th May, numbering over forty persons.
The Lead Presenter on behalf of the NIC was Joele Auguste-Alexander who demonstrated a most profound and comprehensive knowledge of not just the key issues in NIC compliance, but an ability to impart knowledge and to demonstrate the practical concerns of the Institution. Joele meandered through layers of information with ease and panache, ensuring that participants fully comprehended and were comfortable at the end.
This Workshop continues the Chamber’s Smaller Members Support Programme that involves a series of programmes designed by the Chamber to positively impact the knowledge, skills, and ability of its smaller members to navigate the challenges of running their business profitable. With the support of member institutions like Bank of St. Lucia, St. Lucia Development Bank, SAGICOR, Unicomer Fast Cash, First National Bank and Invest Saint Lucia, the Chamber can host high impact Business Information and Development programmes at low cost to its targeted audience who need to Upskill and get on the inside edge on key business practices.
So far this year, the SMSP Programme has hosted programmes on Human Resource Management (Labour Act), Taxes, QuickBooks Online and Business Continuity Planning and will next week host a powerful and intriguing workshop on “How to Access Available Incentives and Concessions. Bank of St. Lucia Limited has taken the lead in agreeing to be main sponsor of this potentially transformational session.
The Chamber and the NIC are confident of the impactful substance of the workshop in that it has empowered the participants that attended and looks forward to hosting another Cohort.
