The New York City-based Helen’s Hope Foundation (HHF) will host a fundraiser on Saturday, May 7, 2022.
Proceeds from this fundraiser will provide essential support for the organization’s second food pantry giveaway, which takes place this summer. Besides distributing nutritious meals to underprivileged children in Saint Lucia, HHF furnishes them with school supplies they could not otherwise afford. A spokesperson for the organization said that this fundraising venture is timely given the rising cost of food and basic necessities, which makes it more difficult for less fortunate families to put food on the table.
The event, dubbed “Good Vibes,” kicks off at 10 PM, and will be held at the Tropiks Lounge, 422 Utica Ave, in Brooklyn, New York, where food and drinks will be for sale in a good vibes atmosphere.
Helen’s Hope Foundation, Inc. was founded by Nessa and Janelle Thornhill in July 2021. The organization’s goal was and is, quite simply, to alleviate hunger on the island to the greatest extent possible. Their Christmas pantry giveaway event fed more than thirty-five families, including ninety-three children. Still, despite their best efforts, it was necessary to turn a number of families away. The percentage of families in need has only grown since that time, and so, Saint Lucians and well-wishers are encouraged to come out and show their support for HHF’s vital work.
