Gros Islet defeated Roseau 2-nil, on Thursday, to top the Island Premier Cup points table as the competition continues.
Tev and Nicholas Lawrence converted with goals in the 28th and 40th min respectively, to enable Gros Islet to cement its place at the top of the standings.
In the other game played, Canaries got the better of Mabouya Valley 2 – nil; with goals from Donavan Jn. Baptiste in the 48th min and Emmery Edward in the 53rd min.

The competition’s leading goal scorers so far are ; are Aramis Albert of Gros Islet Ectus David of Desruisseaux Donavan Jn. Baptiste of Canaries with eight each, Tev Lawrence of Gros Islet with six, Janai Lesmond, and Lincoln Phillip of Marchand, Yanic Noel Babonneau and Jarvel Faucher of the Canaries with five goals each.

In other updates, the St. Lucia Football Association [SLFA] Inc. President’s Cup is expected to kick off shortly.
Seven teams are down to compete in two respective groups, namely;
Group 1 –
Shambala Shiloh FC, Piton Travel Young Stars, Flames United, and CT Foundation.
Group 2 –
Black Panthers FC, Black Eagles FC, and Aux Lyon United FC.
Teams will compete in a single round-robin format, with the top two (2) teams advancing to the semifinals and finals.
The SLFA Inc. recently held a successful planning meeting with the teams, where all the logistics of the competition were discussed and outlined.
