The St. Lucia Chamber of Commerce will be hosting another Business Education Engagement for its Smaller Members themed Completing your Tax Returns with Ease -for Small Businesses. This event forms part of the Agenda of the Small Member Support Programme (SMSP) which was launched May 6th 2021.
The Chamber of Commerce, acknowledging that approximately 68% of its members employ between 1 to 20 people, has developed programmes that offer its members in this category, with targeted support, that will assist as they seek to navigate the recent pandemic. Further, the SMSP provides information, skills and knowledge designed to empower the Smaller Members of the Chamber to grow and develop. Partners of the Smaller Member Support Program include Courts Ready Cash, Saint Lucia Development Bank, German Sparkerssenstifung Eastern Caribbean, Bank of Saint Lucia and the 1st National Bank.
On Tuesday March 22nd 2022, from 4:00 PM, experts from The Inland Revenue Department will provide participants with information necessary for Completing Tax Returns. Many businesses have opined that the process is an administrative burden and complex and thus will have the opportunity to meet with experts from the Inland Revenue Department to resolve the issues previously encountered.
The Chamber is therefore inviting all its members and the wider business community particularly, self- employed and small business owners and operators, to learn more and better understand the process of completing tax returns, to register for the workshop with the Chamber Secretariat via email [email protected] or telephone 4523165.
The IRD has informed the Business Community that the deadline for filing is March 31st, 2022.
