PRESS RELEASE — The Ministry of Health, Wellness and Elderly Affairs today Wednesday August 25, 2021 confirms a total of 115 new cases of COVID-19. These cases were processed at the Ezra Long Laboratory on Tuesday August 24, 2021 from a batch of 364 samples. These cases bring the total number of cases diagnosed in country to date to 7536.
The Ministry of Health also reports two new COVID-19 related deaths. To date, the total number of COVID-19 deaths in country is 71 and the total number of COVID-19 related deaths is 30. COVID-19 related death #29 is a 25 year old male from the Vieux-Fort district. COVID-19 related death #30 is a 76 year old female from the Castries district. The Ministry of Health sympathizes with the family, friends and loved ones of these individuals.
Confirmation was also received of the recovery of 59 individuals diagnosed with COVID-19. This brings the total number of active cases currently in country to date to 1600. Three of the active cases are in critical care at the Respiratory Hospital.
