National Trust Alarmed by State of its Sites Used by Public

THE Saint Lucia National Trust (SLNT) is calling on Saint Lucians to respect the sites it controls by not using them as dumping grounds for garbage and items they have no need for when they visit these sites.

The Trust this week noted that it recently conducted inspections of its sites and was alarmed by the amount of garbage left behind by persons who utilize them for weddings, photo shoots and parties.

According to it, the sites that are mainly affected are Married Women’s Quarters/Meadows Battery, Prevost’s Park and Morne Pavillion.

“The public is informed that permission must be sought from the Trust before any of its sites are used to host activities and events and we urge proper waste management practices when permission is granted at the sites used,” stated the Trust, calling on the public to cooperate.
