THE stage is now set for the final between Mon Repos and North Eastern Vet in the 2021 Eagle Freight Adventist Premier League (APL) following Division 2 semifinal action on Sunday 8th August at the Balata playing field.
In the first encounter Mon Repo defeated Comeback Kings by 135 runs.
Batting first, Mon Repos were powered to 217 for 3 in their allotted 20 overs with a blistering 123 not out by Shadrack Descartes. He was well supported by Delan Samuel 33, QwamyDeshang 30 and Cody Lesmond 14.
Bowling for Comeback Kings, one wicket each to, Tony Simon, Quintin Joseph and Jonathan Paul.
Requiring 218 for victory, Comeback Kings folded for 82 in 16.2 overs losing wickets at crucial intervals.
Niranan Nayak top scored with 20, Chad Laurencin 16 and Phil Smith 14.
Bowling for Mon Repos, Shem Peter took 3 for 12 in 3 overs, Melvin Camille picked up 2 for 6 in 1.2 overs and one wicket each to Haig Flavius, Delon Samuel and Cody Samuel

In the second semi-final between North-eastern Veterans and Rising, NE Vet made light work of the opponents defeating them by 111 runs.
Batting first, NE Vet posted 165 for 3 in their allotted 20 overs, Steve Charles top scoring 57, Bronte Bess 50 not out and Frankie Gustave 18 not out.
Bowling for Rising Sun, one wicket each to Kendel and Kensley Paul.
Chasing 166 for victory, Rising Sun reached 54 for 8 in their allotted 20 overs with Hensley Paul scoring 12.
Bowling for NE Vet, Francis Charles 3 for 8 in 4 overs and one wicket each to Cyrus Cepal, Vern Gabriel, and Desmond Houson.
