On Thursday, September 12, 2019, thirty eight (38) year old, Shan Samuel of Micoud, was formally charged for causing the death of twenty six (26) year old, Paul Albert of Malgretoute, Micoud, on Thursday, July 25, 2019, on Manoel Street, Castries. Albert, who sustained multiple stab wounds during the altercation, succumbed at the Victoria Hospital.
Shan Samuel was charged for the offence of Murder, Contrary to Section 85 of the Criminal Code Chapter 3.01 of the Revised Laws of St. Lucia 2013. He was escorted to the First District Court on Friday, September 13, 2019, for a bail hearing, where he was remanded into custody. He is expected to return before the court on October 3, 2019, for Case Management.
