ST JOHN Association of Saint Lucia welcomes a new commissioner and deputy commissioner. On Thursday, 12 September 2019, in a ceremony at St John Headquarters in Castries, Her Excellency Dame Pearlette Louisy (DStJ), President of the Association, inducted BerthiaNickson as Commissioner and Vernelle Alphonse-Cerry as Deputy Commissioner of St John Association of Saint Lucia.
Miss Nickson is a University of the West Indies alumna, works at a diplomatic mission full time and volunteers with different organisations on a community and national level.
Alphonse-Cerry is a primary school educator and coordinator of the St John Badgers programme.
Commissioner Nickson commented: “To serve St John Association is an honour and a pleasure. God has entrusted us as stewards of this world He created; as a sign of gratitude for all that He has blessed us with, it is our disciple mission to share our gifts with others. And this is what we do.”
St John Association of Saint Lucia is a charitable non-governmental organisation fuelled and managed by over 100 volunteers. It specialises in building capacity among residents through conducting training in the fields of first aid and disaster risk resilience.
