MAS AT MARIAN HOME!
AS the country recuperated yesterday from two days of massive carnival excitement, senior citizens at the Marian Home were gearing-up for their turn at Playing Mas — and Mas they played yesterday afternoon, decked-out in carnival costumes and related paraphernalia donated by kind-hearted revelers who felt the need to do something worthwhile with costumes they wore two days earlier.
The costumes – all cleaned up nicely to give an air of freshness, brought smiles on the faces of the elderly as they donned them on.
African drums were played by the professionals, Calypsonian Lady Leen sang and other volunteers ensured that the senior citizens living-out their golden years had some cultural fun.
This is the fourth year of Carnival at Marian Home — a little-known event that has mushroomed into a big one for the residents.
