ARNOTT F. Valmont, one of Saint Lucia’s most successful and enduring businessmen, celebrated his 98th birthday with family and friends on Tuesday.
A pioneer Castries businessman, Valmont headed the family enterprise for several decades and it grew to become a successful popular local family business.
Located on Laborie and Jeremy Streets and with branches elsewhere, the Valmont family enterprise spanned hardware and software, lumber and clothing, a bookstore and several other departments. The family business also expanded into insurance and real estate, as well as provision of industrial gases.
Mr Valmont, the family patriarch, retired from active business several years ago, but is as vibrant as ever at home, as was seen and heard during Tuesday’s birthday celebration attended by family, friends and well-wishers.
Relatives and friends also urged “the old man” to stay strong and strive to celebrate and surpass his centennial birth anniversary, just two years away.
The VOICE congratulates Mr Valmont and wishes him even longer life!
