PRESS RELEASE – ‘SECRET Wounds’, the first novel by Tarsa Blaize, was published last week Sunday.
An avid reader from age eight, Blaize discovered her passion for writing in secondary school. Although encouraged by her literature teacher, it wasn’t until 1999 that she wrote her first serious piece while taking part in a ‘Christmas Story’ for Radio St. Lucia.
“Since that experience, I decided that I wanted to be a writer,” Blaize explains. “The draft of ‘Secret Wounds’ took me four and a half months to write. However, the entire process from draft to publishing took about a year.”
‘Secret Wounds’ will not be a one-time high for Blaize, as she is already thinking about the sequel to the book.
“This was just a taste and I have so much more to write. There will definitely be more books coming from my hand in the future,” she said.
When asked if she had any words to share with her potential readers or other aspiring writers, Blaize said: “Fear of rejection and failure are deterrents which hinder us from achieving our goals. I would say that within all of us lies the power to reach our full potential. Allow your inner self to break free and flourish!”
In daily life, Blaize works at NAGICO Insurances in the Medical Department.
General Manager of NAGICO, Mrs. Jn. Baptiste, and all employees, applaud Tarsa on this great personal achievement and hopes the community at large will show their support to this new local writer.
‘Secret Wounds’ tells the story of a St. Lucian man, Sean, who finds himself saddled with an unwanted burden. Unsure of whom to turn to, he makes a decision which threatens to crumble all that he has worked for.
With his wife Abigale in a sea of shadows and his daughter Suzie struggling with the onset of puberty, things are not always as they seem. Will Sean be able to break free and keep his secrets and family safe in this unfolding saga? ‘Secret Wounds’ is now available as ebook on Amazon.
