THE Belle Vue Development Committee and the Belle Vue Youth and Sports Club will stage Belle Vue Sports Day tomorrow to commemorate Saint Lucia’s 38th Independence anniversary.
Activities will commence from 5:00 a.m. with a health walk from Belle Vue to Vivancelle.
According to organizers, the objective of this activity is to create an avenue through which residents can showcase their skills and talents in a number of sporting disciplines and promote healthy living.
Organizers are inviting residents form Belle Vue and its environs to make a special effort to attend and participate in the one-day event “as activities of this nature are indicative of love for country and a deep commitment towards advancing the cause of youth development.”
A series of T10 cricket matches will also be played between Belle Vue and Morne Cayenne starting from 10:00 a.m. on the Belle Vue Playing Field to be followed by several fun sports events for residents of all ages from 2:00 p.m.
The day’s activity will shift into high gear at 4:00 p.m. with the much-talked-about football match between married and single men.
The entertainment will then head to the multi-purpose court from 5:00 p.m for netball and 6:30 p.m. for basketball. To bring the curtains down, sports enthusiasts present will take in the excitement in the five-a-side street football soccer-rama scheduled for 8:00 p.m.
