THE Independent Netball Club tournament continued at the Vigie Sports Complex Tuesday night with the staging of a Division 2 match in which TiRocher relatively newcomers to the tournament edged out Northern United 26-24.
The match commenced gingerly as both teams sought to impose their dominance on the court, resulting in numerous missed opportunities. Nevertheless, the first quarter was evenly poised with Ti Rocher enjoying a slender 7-6 margin.
Northern United dominated the second quarter then Ti Rocher took the third to level with Northern 20-20.
In the final quarter, the pendulum swung back and forth as both teams sought to seize the advantage. In the end, it was a better composed TiRocher team which prevailed, scoring 6-4 to emerge victorious with 26-24.
Matches continued last evening at the Vigie Multi-Purpose Sports Complex where Shamrock took on Ti Rocher in Division 2 and Avengers played Shamrock in Division 1.
