THE Minister with responsibility for the water sector, Dr. James Fletcher, will today lead a press tour of the works being undertaken in Micoudand Desruisseaux to improve the water supply to these areas.
These communities which have long suffered with inconsistent water supplies, are currently benefiting from a grant from the European Union, worth over $2 million, to improve water services in the areas.
In Desruisseaux, the water intake is being completely reconstructed, while the water treatment plant in that community is being rehabilitated and upgraded.
The village of Micoud will receive a vastly improved water treatment plant. These works are almost complete and the improved Micoud water treatment plant is expected to be commissioned soon.
