THE Ministry of Education has announced that the Augier Combined School will reopen for the third term of the academic year next Monday April 18.
The school will remain closed this week to allow for cleaning and sanitization of the buildings. The school has been closed since the middle of March, due to foul odour and other pollutants emanating from nearby chicken farms.
However, according to the Ministry, a regime of cleaning and supervision of the farms has been agreed to in the interim, to minimize the level of pollutants and stench from those farms.
Meanwhile a meeting with parents of students attending the Augier Combined School has been scheduled for tomorrow from 4:00 p.m., at the Parish Hall of the Augier Roman Catholic Church. Parents should also note that classes for the Grade 6 students preparing for the Common Entrance Examination are being held in the Parish Hall of the Augier Roman Catholic Church, from yesterday to Friday of this week.
