SPLASH Island Water Park, the Caribbean’s most exciting water-based attraction, recently hosted its first annual Ninja Warrior Competition last Saturday on Reduit Beach.
The Ninja Warrior competition saw eight teams compete in three competitions which included 5 on 5 water volleyball, team relay time trails and individual time trails.
Fifty-two participants represented teams such as LIME, Splash Island Water Park/Saluna Water Sports, the Body Holiday, Sea Adventures Inc. (Cox and Co.), Sandals Resorts International, the Aquaholics (Ricardo Sayers), Team Gregory Joseph (aka Zombie Robot Ninja Pirates) and Bay Gardens Resorts.
In the end, the Splash Island Water Park/Saluna Water Sports team was the overall competition winners with 25 points, capturing the title of Splash Island Ninja Warrior Champions
The competition was envisioned by Mr.SanovnikDestang, Executive Director, Bay Gardens Resorts and Mrs.Julianna Ward-Destang, Managing Directorof Splash Island Water Park, and was patterned on the popular show, American Ninja Warrior . They both expressed their gratitude to all the volunteers, participants and sponsors.
“It was great to see all the participants of the various teams give it their very best in all three competitions and showcase the talent we have in St. Lucia. This was a fun and exciting competition and we hope to hold more of these in the very near future” said Ward-Destang.
The popular one of a kind Caribbean water park also looks to hold its first ever Splash Olympics on December 19, which is a series of competitive events for the age groups 6-9, 10-13, and 14-17.
