AN all-round performance by Anisa Mohammed enabled the West Indies to draw level with Pakistan one game apiece in the four match ODI series being played at the Beausejour Cricket Grounds.

Both teams will be seeking to edge ahead when the series continues tomorrow.

The West Indies owe their matching winning performance Sunday to Mohammed and Kyshona Knight who took the team to victory after a middle order collapse. Chasing 150 for victory, the West Indies were seemingly well on target when they lost three quick wickets including skipper Stafanie Taylor for 49 and were staring defeat in the face.

But Mohammed and Knight came together and featured in an eighth wicket partnership which saved the day.

On Friday evening the West Indies went down to the visitors in the opening game by six wickets.

Scores in that match were: West Indies 222 for 9 off 50 overs (Merissa Aguilleira 67 not out, Britney Cooper 37, Stafanie Taylor 27; Anam Amin 2 for 29, Nida Dar 2 for 34, Sania Khan 2 for 37, Bismah Maroof 2 for 44).

Pakistan women 225 for 4 off 48.1 overs (Javeria Khan 90, Nain Abidi 31, Marina Iqbal 23; Deandra Dottin 2 for 44).

On Sunday, Mohammed scored 19 runs and picked up two wickets for 24 runs to claim Player of the match has helped West Indies Women beat Pakistan by three wickets to avenge Friday’s defeat.

Sent in to bat after the West Indies won the toss, Pakistan were routed for 149 runs. Nain Abidi top scored with 48 runs from 82 balls, Bismah Maroof retired hurt on 28 runs, Marina Iqbal made 15, and Aliya Riaz and Asmavia Iqbal contributed 14 and 11 runs respectively.

Bowling for West Indies, Anisa Mohammed claimed 2 for 24 and Hayley Matthews picked up two for 22. Skipper Taylor had 1 for 25 and Shamilia Connell 1 for 17.

The home team chasing 150 runs to win reached the target in 46.5 overs with three wickets to spare.

Skipper Stafanie Taylor was the top scorer with 49 runs, Kyshona A. Knight 28 and Anisa Mohammed who made 19 runs were the main contributors with the bat.

Bowling for Pakistan Anam Amin picked up 4 for 30 Asmavia Iqbal took 2 for 17.
