THIS year’s Caribbean College of Surgeons conference held at The Radisson Hotel in Barbados recently was hailed a success.
There were participants from all over the Caribbean as well as Europe and even China! The College was created in 2005 to promote excellence and development in Caribbean surgery
The awards banquet saw three persons being honoured: namely Dr Terry Ali of Trinidad and Tobago, Dr Andrew Richardson from St Lucia and Ms. June Marshall of Barbados.
Dr. Richardson who practises at Tapion Hospital, was given a special award for the tremendous work he did as the College’s first secretary. He helped to co-ordinate the early council meetings and was responsible for the College’s first website as well as being the chief organizer for the college meeting when it was held in St Lucia in 2007.
