SOUFRIERE Comprehensive are the 2015 Ministry of Youth Development and Sports sponsored Massy United Insurance Under-19 Schools Cricket Champions after completing an intense 4 wicket victory over St. Mary’s College at the Beausejour Cricket Ground on Tuesday.
St. Mary’s College batting first in a match reduced to 45 overs was dismissed for 151 in 39 overs, with Jard Goodman top scoring with 41.
NatiusBurtin was Soufriere Comprehensive’s most successful bowler with figures of 4 for 40 in 9 overs. Good support also came from Zack Anthony with 2 for 18 in 9 overs.
In response,, Soufriere Comprehensive, despite at one point being 60 for 5, batted resolutely, finishing on 153 for 6 in the 37th over, with the main contributors being Julian Sylvester with 38, Trevor Edward 33, and Melody Jules 20.
Benroy Papin was St. Mary’s best bowler taking 2 for 30 in 9 overs.
