HEINEKEN Green Synergy, the summer long DJ competition is back once again with a bang.
Speaking at a press launch on Wednesday, Heineken brand manager Gaius Harry pointed out that the event was marking yet another milestone this year. The press launch was held at the Windward and Leeward Brewery Limited (WLBL) office at Vide Bouteille.
“Today we celebrate another milestone in what has become the signature event for the summer here in Saint Lucia, following hot on the heels of carnival. Today we mark the launch of the twelfth edition of Heineken Green Synergy-the Summer long DJ Competition whose tentacles have spread all across the island of Saint Lucia,” Harry said.
He added that for this the twelfth edition of Heineken Green Synergy, WLBL has pulled out all the stops to ensure that the event continues to be exciting, innovative and attractive, not just to the participating DJs, but for fans and consumers as well.
“For the DJs, this year we will be in search of DJs in both the skills and clash component. Auditions began last Friday July 24 at the Riverbank in Micoud and Sunday July 26 at the Rudy John beach in Laborie,” Harry said.
Auditions continue today at Pigeon Island and tomorrow at Roseau. According to the brand manager, the intention is to select the best DJs going into the first preliminary round of competition, which will be held next Sunday August 9 at Sabwisha beach Choiseul.
“For our fans of Heineken Green Synergy there will be constant engagement with them via our Facebook page, where they will be afforded lots of opportunities to win prizes and post pictures of their favourite Green Synergy moments as well. There will also be a special prize for a Facebook fan who predicts the 2015 Heineken Green Synergy winner as well as the fan favourite,” Harry explained.
For Heineken consumers, Heineken will offer special prizes with the purchase of Heineken six packs. There will also be several bar and on-premise promotions during the Heineken Green Synergy period July 24-August 30. Fans will also be able to follow the Heineken Green Synergy action via television broadcast of the event.
“We have also rebranded our Heineken Green Synergy logo and at all events patrons can expect this new look to become a major part of the whole enhancement of the presentation of Heineken Green Synergy 2015,” Harry told the press .
The brand will also be reinforcing its safety first and water break policy with partner Paradise Springs all in an effort to promote responsible drinking.
The Heineken Green Synergy semi-final will be held Sunday August 23 on the Kaka Bef, the finals-Sunday August 30, Fond d’Or. One DJ will walk away with a trophy, the title of Heineken Green Synergy champion 2015, EC$10, 000 as well as a trip to participate in a Heineken event.
“At the end of it all our fans and consumers will once again be engaged in the finale of a summer long activation like no other as we raise our glasses and bottles to the twelfth edition of Heineken Green Synergy 2015-the best of the best,” Harry said.
