THE Saint Lucia Writers’ Forum is inviting the general public to the Laureate’s Chair later today, a Writers’ Forum initiative to expose budding writers to the seasoned and accomplished writers among us.
This public reading activity will be held monthly, every last Tuesday. It is the forum’s way of perennially celebrating the achievement of the Literature Laureate Derek Walcott.
In attendance will be Adrian Augier, the featured writer, who will share excerpts from his published work and will end with a reading of his favourite work of Walcott. There will be a question and answer session.
Augier is an award-winning poet and producer. He is the 2010 Caribbean Laureate for Arts and Letters as awarded by the ANSA Foundation, Trinidad. In 2009 he was presented with the NDATT Caribbean Cacique Award for his contributions to Caribbean Theatre, just to mention a few accomplishments.
The programme commences at 7:00 p.m.tonight at the Castries Central Library and is scheduled to last for one hour.
