BASKETBALL action continues tonight at the Beausejour Indoor Practice Facility with the second playoff semi-final in Premier League when VBCC Warlords face Soufriere Sulphur in game 1 of their 3-match series from 7.00 p.m.
On Tuesday night, Lions and Combined Schools started their Division 1 semi-final playoff series in the KFC National Basketball League.
Game 1 of the best of 3 series finished in a frantically nervy end for Combined Schools who led the entire game; but were pushed late in the to cling to a one point lead with 9 seconds to game regulation.
With the score at 65 – 64 and Schools with possession of the ball, Lions forced a turnover, but saw their last gasp shot attempt fall way short awarding game 1 to Combined Schools.
Player of the game JervaisFlorius was efficient on the offensive end for Combined Schools converting 9/14FG (64%) for his 20 points, 2 steals and 2 rebounds. Jadson Montoute also added 11 points and 12 rebounds in the win for Schools. Neil Verdant had a game high of 22 points and 11 rebounds for Lions.
