ONLY one of the four scheduled matches in the Ministry of Youth Development and Sports Secondary Schools Under-15 Cricket Tournament was completed on Thursday.
At the Monchy Playing Field, Entrepot Secondary completed a 7 wicket victory over Sir Ira Simmons. Batting first, Sir Ira Simmons was dismissed for 104.
Entrepot Secondary, led by Tyrel Chicot with 39 and 25 from Kyle Adonis, easily got to their target, finishing on 106 for 3 in only 9.5 overs.
In the second game of the day between SDA Academy and Castries Comprehensive, both teams had to settle for 1 point each as a sharp afternoon shower brought the match to a premature end. In action before the rain, SDA Academy batting first was dismissed in the 25th over for 185, with useful scores coming from Clem Ramlal 39, Shalyk St. Juste 23, AckeemAuguste 18 and Imbert Lorde 14. Bowling for Castries Comprehensive, Zayne Fontinelle 5 for 18 in 4.4 overs and ZanakiProspere 3 for 10 in 2 overs.
In reply before the rain, Castries Comprehensive raced to 29 without loss in just 2 overs.
At the Gros Islet Playing Field, Leon Hess Comprehensive won by default over Bocage Secondary, while the afternoon match between St. Mary’s College and Ciceron Secondary also came to a premature end due to rain, with each team settling for 1 point, St. Mary’s College’s batting first had reached 165 for 5 in 20 overs, with skipper Rahym Joseph stroking 64.
