The St. Lucia Olympic Committee (SLOC) has paid out (EC$63, 621.99) to member Federations to assist in their on-going programmes and representation at the regional and international levels.
The St.Lucia Volleyball Association received $13,107.13 for its beach volleyball team of Joseph Clercent and Julian Bissette who will attend a training camp in Brazil.
The St. Lucia Boxing Association received the biggest amount $27,149.39, to send boxers Lyndell Marcellin and Arthur Langelier to the Pan Am qualifying tournament in Tijuana, Mexico in June.
The St. Lucia Amateur Swimming Association under its newly elected President Carol Mangal, will see team St. Lucia compete at the Central American and Caribbean Championships (CCCAN) next month in Bridgetown, Barbados. The SLOC will spend $6,350.00.
The St. Lucia Bodybuilding and Fitness Association received $9,005.00 for a training workshop in Guatemala, while the St. Lucia Shooting Association got $8,010.00 for the purchase of firearms and tickets to Rio de Janeiro Brazil.
Meanwhile, SLOC General Secretary Alfred Emmanuel said that the SLOC so far has paid out close to $250,000.00 to its member federations for participating in a number of events this year and will continue to assist in the months ahead.
