THE 2015 Ministry of Youth Development and Sports Massy United Insurance Under – 19 Schools Cricket Tournament resumed on Tuesday with a semifinal clash between Soufriere Comprehensive and Gros Islet Secondary at the Dennery Playing Field.
The game was reduced to 40 overs a side due to a late start. Soufriere Comprehensive led by a 5 wicket haul from leg spinner Romal George and an unbeaten half-century from Julian Sylvester completed a comfortable 7 wicket victory over Gros Islet Secondary and secured a place into the finals.
Gros Islet Secondary batting first, was dismissed for 94 in 17.1 overs, with Tev Lawrence top scoring with 33 and Melvin Doxilly chipped in with 22.
For Soufriere Comprehensive, the George who bagged 5 for 14 in 5 overs and seamer, Trevor Edward 4 for 31 in 7.1 overs.
Chasing 95 for victory and a spot into the finals, Soufriere Comprehensive finished on 97 for 3 in just 11.3 overs.
