IT’S the final night of competition in the Caribbean Netball Association Jean Pierre Under – 16 tournament currently being played at the VigieMulti Purpose Sports Complex in Castries.

With host nation St. Lucia still in with a podium call, they will have to pull out all stops when they play Trinidad and Tobago in the second match of the night on Court No. 2 from 6:15 p.m.

Also in action this evening on Court No. 1 from 6:00 p.m. Dominica plays Bermuda and from 7:00 p.m. St.Vincent and the Grenadines will go up against Grenada to bring the curtains down.

Meanwhile, the hosts was pegged back in their stride on Monday evening when they went down to St.Vincent and the Grenadines in a ding dong battle 23 – 22. Then on Tuesday St. Lucia were out played by Barbados, 29 – 16. For Barbados (GS) RomanciaOdisin scored 22 from 24 attempts and (GA) Trishan Deane 7 from 14 attempts. For St. Lucia (GS) Kamala Mangal scored 2 from 2, substitute Kiana Nelson 1 from 5 and Tanny William 13 from 16 attempts.

In other matches played on Tuesday Grenada and Dominica drew 22 -22. Grenada led in the first three quarter but Dominica came back strong in the final quarter to draw the game. For Dominica (GS) CelenaLanglais 15 from 19 attempts and (GA) Shernice Henry 7 from scored 15 attempts. For Grenada (GS) Carlyn Alexander netted 16 from 25, (GA) RawlishaReadhead 4 from 8, substitute (GA) Holly Charles 2 from 3.

St. Vincent and the Grenadines made light work of Bermuda winning 38 – 21. Quarter scores 9 – 6, 18 – 9, 28 – 15, 38 – 21.

Barbados remain on course for a top podium finish after Tuesday’s round of matches winning four out of four. The Bajans put their unbeaten streak on the line last night against Trinidad and Tobago, who have been disappointing thus far in this year’s tournament.

Other matches played last night, St. Vincent against Dominica, while St.Lucia took on Grenada. Matches were in progress when we went to press.

Following the St.Vincent and the Grenadines versus Grenada game tonight, there will be the closing ceremony and awards will be presented to the top teams along with outstanding individualplayers.
