New Moves At Fond Doux

Three Honeymoon Suites Just Added; Earns 2 more Awards

Fond Doux Plantation & Resort at Soufriere has to announced exciting new developments and are already plunging headfirst into 2015!

Located on a prestigious UNESCO World Heritage Site amidst the towering Pitons, and Saint. Lucian owned, managed, and staffed, the internationally renowned and award-winning Fond Doux Plantation & Resort is excited to first talk about the additions of three new Honeymoon suites to its incredible private collection of romantic colonial style cottages in Soufriere.

The exquisite Honeymoon suites include Hilltop Cashew, Hilltop Nutmeg, and Hilltop Orange were completed in 2014. These lovely cottages each have a private plunge pool and outdoor rainforest shower; complete with the same rich character Fond Doux is internationally known for, as well their restaurants’ “plantation to plate” concept.

The resort’s reception area and gym have also been relocated into the 250 year old main Plantation House, providing a spacious lobby and lounge for all of their guests to enjoy.

Simply put, awards are nothing new to Fond Doux, having received accolades last year from Travel Weekly, recognizing this historic colonial plantation resort in two categories– the Gold Magellan Award in the Hospitality Eco-Friendly “Green” Resort/Hotel and the Silver Magellan Award in the Hospitality Standard Room Design.

“We’re already into 2015, and we’re looking forward to an exciting year!” Fond Doux owner ErolineLaMontagne states. “Both the gym and the transferring of the office to the main house will be completed within the next four to six weeks. We look forward to intensifying our plantation-to-plate concept and as a green globe certified property we will be educating and providing more staff training on our eco-green practices.”

Fond Doux received a Green Globe recertification earlier last year, and it recognized and honoured their continuing dedication to the ideal of sustainable tourism. Committed to eco-friendliness and self-sufficiency, Fond Doux earnestly invites everyone to get involved. It is this persistent effort in enhancing guest experiences that has earned the property and its on-site restaurant, Jardin Cacao, the highly coveted Certificate of Excellence awards from TripAdvisor for several years in a row. All of these prestigious awards place Fond Doux in the top-performing 10% of all businesses worldwide, as far as TripAdvisor in concerned. Fond Doux takes their “plantation to plate” aspect to heart, providing a delicious and luscious environment for guests to literally select their meal from out of their window, if they like.

Fond Doux isn’t just a mere resort—it is a self-sustaining eco-friendly plantation that grows its own food.

“Now that’s not something we’re ashamed to be proud of!” beamed Eroline.
