The 2024 ECCB International Netball Series commenced last Sunday at the Beausejour Indoor Practice Facility with some high-scoring matches and notable victories.
In the opening rounds, the host -Team Saint Lucia defeated Monserrat 66-9. Saint Lucia dominated in all quarters: 17-0, 35-1, 53-1, and 66-9. The team was led by goal-shoot Merlessa Alfred, who scored 31 goals from 33 attempts, goal attack Dasha Eugene with 12 from 14, goal attack Semaj Marguerite with 10 from 11, and goal shoot Shem Maxwell with 7 from 9. Montserrat’s Goal Shoot Juana Osbourne netted 8 from 15.
In other opening round matches, Antigua and Barbuda narrowly defeated defending champions Grenada in a close encounter with a score of 39-37, with set scores of 10-8, 19-17, 29-29, and 37-39.
In another match, the Cayman Islands dominated against Anguilla with a score of 90-14, with quarter scores of 22-2, 45-4, 70-9. Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) also secured a victory, easing past the Commonwealth of Dominica with a score of 71-32 and quarter scores of 20-8, 38-17, 60-20, and 71-32.

Grenada 45 vs. Cayman Islands 35; SVG 87 vs. Anguilla 8; the Commonwealth of Dominica 59 vs. Montserrat 16; and Saint Lucia 55 vs. Antigua and Barbuda 38.
