GPH remains a grossly worrisome transaction

By Francis Emmanuel

HOW many more times will PJP be permitted to come on the air spilling the same garbled information regarding GPH?  We are not dumb heads Mr. PM, all we ask for is a copy of the agreement as there are Ministers in your cabinet who can provide the information without you having to do so.  The more we learn about the GPH deal, the more sickening it becomes.  This farce of a deal will rear its ugly head and we can only trust that the PM will be around to witness the backlash.

Another ongoing and troubling situation in St Lucia is the blatant victimisation and fear being instilled within the community but most recently a number of persons have been emerging from the woodwork giving their side of the story and making reference to the lady accountant and the minibus owner who have been victimized for over one year.  How can that be permitted here at home?  Further, the PM has the audacity to criticize the former administration regarding ongoing basic irregularities he should be more than willing to disclose.  The number of half truths he uttered against the former PM would occupy pages in any diary.

The eighty-million-dollar expenditure for the stadium is yet another story requiring clarification as no details were given regarding which contractors were doing what, but more importantly, dust is continually thrown into our eyes when all we wish to know is whether National Lotteries Authority can afford or ill afford such a loan/commitment.  Just be upfront and admit that government is the real borrower as the buck stops with them.

Ordinary St Lucians have every reason to be concerned re the direction of St Lucia and the unfairness against those who don’t wear the SLP banner.  2025 is around the corner and there will be much weeping and gnashing of teeth when the 2025 franchise will be cast.
