ANSE Chastanet/Jade Mountain continues to shine. The resort captured the 2023 Sponsor of the Year award at last week’s National Sports Awards, adding yet another trophy to their collection. The award is given to a corporate sponsor that has played an integral role in the development of youth and sports in Saint Lucia.
The hotel’s extensive contributions were outlined at the event: “This conglomerate is synonymous with sports and sporting infrastructure in Soufriere. They also sponsored the Inter- House track meets of the schools in District Eight and Seven and contributed over $10,000 towards Island Champs.
“In basketball, they provided uniforms for the Soufriere Basketball Team (and) sponsored the 3×3 Summer Tournament and the Saint Lucia Basketball Federation island-wide 3×3 Basketball Classic. In netball, they sponsored the coach Verne Alexander Summer Youth Netball Tournament, and the Little Sisters Netball team of Fond St. Jacques.
“Football was no exception as the company sponsored three hours of lights, three days a week to facilitate training for all Soufriere teams and community recreation. They also sponsored the Soufriere Football League youth football tournament, Soufriere Football League Promotional Cup and the 2023 Hon. Emma Hippolyte Football Tournament.
“In cricket, they sponsored the Soufriere Cricket team’s participation in Dream 11 T10 tournament and the Soufriere Cricket team in 2023 SPL tournaments.”
