PRESS RELEASE – THE University of the West Indies Alumni Association (UWIAA) Interim Executive Committee has been proactively embarking on initiatives aimed at achieving the Association’s mandate and invigorating its membership.
As an Authority of The University of the West Indies (UWI), The UWIAA remains committed to fostering a culture of volunteering, networking and fundraising among alumni so that they view The UWI as a lifelong partner and work towards building One UWI, One Alumni Family.
The mandate of The UWIAA includes fostering and maintaining contact among alumni, encouraging a closer bond of affinity and commitment to the University, and engaging in fundraising activities in order to enhance the development of The UWI and contribute to society. In order to achieve this mandate, The UWIAA requires a full-fledged Executive Committee which can drive the Association to realizing the fullest potential of its membership.
The UWIAA, therefore, calls on Alumni to submit nominees for the following positions as part of efforts geared towards preparing for the upcoming elections: President, Vice-President, Public Relations Officer, Social Media Officer, Secretary, Treasurer, and Assistant Treasurer/Secretary.
