Fatal accident claims the life of young female.

On Saturday 7th July, 2012, about 2:00 am, Officers attached to the Richfond Police Station responded to a report of a serious vehicular accident which occurred near Fond D’or, Dennery.

Information received indicates motor car registration number PD 1924 driven by Dwight Mathurin of Grande Riviere, Dennery was travelling along the said road in the direction of Dennery. The driver lost control of his vehicle and slammed into a utility pole off the right side of the road. At the time the motor car had three occupants on board. They were Allison Anigille, Vernet Fernellon and the driver Dwight Mathurin of all whom are from Grande Riviere.

As a result of the impact, all occupants sustained injuries and were transported to the Victoria Hospital. Vernet Fernellon was pronounced dead on arrival. The other two occupants were treated and discharged.

The motor car received extensive damage.

A post mortem is scheduled at a later date to determine the cause of death for Vernet Fernellon.
An investigation into the matter is ongoing.

Serious Accident leaves one man in critical condition

On Saturday 7th July, 2012, about 1:15 pm, Officers attached to the Gros Islet Police Station responded to a report of a serious vehicular accident which occurred at Rodney Bay, Gros Islet.

On arrival at the scene, officers received information that motor pick up registration number 1010 driven by 35 year old Christopher Hunte of Bonneterre, was travelling along the said road in an easterly direction when he came into contact with a black motor cycle travelling in the opposite direction. The rider was identified as 23 year old Francis Giraudy also known as Junior of Corinth, Gros Islet. At the time of the accident the motor cycle did not carry a registration number.

As a result of the impact, Francis Giraudy sustained serious injuries and was transported to the Victoria Hospital where he was treated and is currently admitted in a critical condition.

Both vehicles received serious damage.
An investigation into the matter is ongoing.

 
 

A Queen reigns for Kaiso Headquarters 2K12

On Saturday 7th July, 2012, the Royal St Lucia Police Force held its annual “Kaiso Headquarters” under the theme “Battle of the Sexes.” This was the seventh anniversary of this event.

15 calypsonians vied with each other for the coveted title, representing various stations and departments, seven of which were females.

Over the last six years, the monarch of the show has been male. This year it took a different twist. Stephanie Henry, whose stage name “Red Ant,” represented Crime Management and became victorious with the song “The Police have Rights too.”

Coming in Second place was Lady Poxy representing the Vulnerable Persons Team in Vieux Fort, Third place went to Sprata Pra of the Police band and in Fourth place was the Slayer from the Police Control Room.

The show was well attended and was a success.
