Digicel’s
Caring Connections continues with its third
Award

Persons
with Special Needs continue to be the focus
for the Digicel Caring Connections 2012 programme.
The Caring Connections Programme since its successful
launch, has assisted previous project ideas
which have been successful. The Third Digicel
grant was presented to The Sacred Sport Foundation
Inc. in the amount of EC$10,000.00.
Delivering
youth sports development programmes to some
1400 youth over the past 3 years, the Sacred
Sports Foundation is a legally registered non-profit
charity, economically, politically and religiously
independent. They create exceptional development
programmes using sport for the youth, primarily
between the ages of 6-23.
The
funding from Digicel’s Caring Connections
will be used to supply appropriate equipment
and training to maintain the programme for a
minimum of three years. This annual programme
lasts for six- eight months and allows for increased
physical activity, increase social interaction
and development, improve motor learning and
development skills and increase confidence and
community awareness.

grown and continues to fund fantastic project
ideas geared towards children with special needs,”

individual differences in people are a natural
part of life, and that disabilities provide
children and adults with unique perspectives,
insights and abilities which contribute to the
overall well-being of society,” she added.
