Student Hit By Stray Bullet Was Due To Write Exams Next Day!

A GRADE 4 student hit by a stray bullet during an outbreak of bloody gun violence in Castries Tuesday was due to sit the Minimum Standards Test the next day, Wednesday.

The student, who attends the Vide Bouteille Primary School, sustained a bullet wound to the leg as a result of a shooting on Peynier Street.

The bullet exited one leg and grazed the other, according to informed sources.

The child is reported to have been in the company of some friends when the incident occurred about 4pm.

Shortly after the outbreak of gun violence, one man was killed and four other persons, including the girl, were injured.

The shooting incident is believed to have been linked to a gang feud involving men from Castries and Vieux Fort.

The matter is currently under investigation by the police.

    * declare a gun amnesty and allow people to anonymously report those who they know have weapons

    *this would also include the pardon of those who turn their guns in willingly

    *non questioning of those who bring a gun which does not belong to them
