CFC Promotional League Heats Up

THE top of the table clash between Flow Lancers FC and Valley Soccer Club lived up to its billing as it was a very tense affair on Saturday at the Corinth field, as action resumed in the 2018 Central Castries Promotional League.

Flow Lancers FC were without their former player coach Trevor Crazy Daniel and the Valley Soccer Club upstarts wanted to take advantage of this.

Valley Soccer Club got a dream start with a goal in the 19th minute as Flow Lancers FC was immediately placed on the back foot. The more experienced Flow Lancers FC team did not panic and they stepped up the pressure in search for an equalizer.

The match changed dramatically mid-way in the 2nd half when Marion Jn. Baptiste of Flow Lancers FC and TraaynunStava of Valley Soccer Club were both shown red cards for violent conduct.

This seemed to spur on Flow Lancers FC and their persistency bore fruit when Jade Jeremie converted a penalty 15 minutes before the final whistle to bring the teams level.

Thereafter Flow Lancers FC searched for the win, Lynch Isidore’s poor finishing undid some fine work as he slalomed through the Valley Soccer Club defense only to shoot wide.

There was no further goal-scoring in the match and the teams shared the points.

In the other match of the weekend, NYAH FC kept FC Pioneers rooted to the bottom of the table with a relatively easy 2 – 0 victory.

It was quick start for NYAH FC when Christopher St. Catherine found the back of the nets in the 3rd minute.

Travis Valcin doubled NYAH FC’s lead in the 31st and from then on, the result looked inevitable.

After the first round of action Valley Soccer Club top the table with 5 points after 3 matches played. However, NYAH FC and Flow Lancers FC are nipping at their heels both on 4 points with each having a game in hand.

These two teams have not met in the first round so it will be all to play for when they play in the next round of fixtures.
